The new Trade Winds shopping center was built in an emerging area of Central Avenue east of Nob Hill that has seen commercial growth in recent years. The retail center was built on the site of the Trade Winds Motor Hotel on Route 66. The shopping center development consists of 15 suites in three buildings, including a site for a drive-thru-style restaurant.
